For those who are discovering Enmeï Studios for the first time, we sat down with founder Regina Ekeløf to hear, in her own words, what makes this practice unique, what inspired her journey, and what’s next for the brand.
For those discovering Enmeï for the first time, how would you describe the workout? What sets it apart from other movement practices?
“The workout brings the best out of reformer Pilates and weight lifting. Imagine being able to mix both of them in one workout and see results so quickly—without getting bored!
The difference between Enmeï and other workouts is that Enmeï is sustainable; something you can do every day if you wanted to without getting injured. You move in ways where you switch on your muscles and get so motivated by the instructors, who are extremely encouraging along the way—no matter if you are a beginner or advanced.”
How did you first get into Pilates and what inspired you to open Enmeï Studios?
“We are coming out of the ‘high intensity cardio’ era. What got me into Pilates was basically me seeking other ways to improve my performance when running or cycling, without straining my joints or pushing too hard each time at a cardiovascular level.
Raising cortisol constantly and being in fight-or-flight mode is not something you can sustain over time! When I discovered this form of Pilates, I noticed I could really find ways to push myself hard, without feeling completely exhausted afterwards—and managing to get good recoveries plus hormone balance.”
You’re opening a beautiful new studio in Marylebone—what inspired the space, and what can clients expect from the experience?
“I think after Chelsea (which will always be my favorite since it was my first child, haha!) I was craving a bigger space, with more room and more machines, to get even more energised from the clients.
So expect a big workout room, a nice lobby with front desk staff, and a recovery area where you can benefit from compression leg therapy. Come to class, and use the legs after—you’ll feel in heaven afterwards!”
Running a brand can be incredibly demanding. What are some of your go-to wellness rituals for staying grounded and managing stress?
“Red light therapy for sure—it’s been helping me. I started doing it back in Covid times (2020), and I am obsessed with fitness trackers so I can see what impacts me in a positive way.
Having that said, working out is always the best therapy for me, followed by a healthy, nourishing meal.”
As a founder, what have been some of the biggest lessons or shifts you’ve experienced in building Enmeï?
“Nothing will ever go as you expect it to go, but when you have a vision and you are so convinced about something, you need to follow your gut.
And one more thing: the coaches are the most valuable thing I have. I love each one of them, and they have been with us through this journey with lots of ups and downs. They’re my motivation to keep on going and making Enmeï better each day.”
With the opening of the new Marylebone studio, Regina and her team continue to expand the Enmeï community, offering not just a workout, but a sustainable practice and supportive space that clients can come back to day after day.
